who
have completed a weeks karate training say that
their increased knowledge means they feel more
confident in their karate as well as appreciating
the improvement in their personal fitness. As
such it is a great opportunity to take a coloured
belt or 1st or 2nd Dan KUGB grading at the end
of the week, the usual grading rules apply. On completion of the full weeks course, everyone eligible will receive a course certificate suitable for framing.
There
are a series of supplementary lectures and seminars
on the course. One of which is a free class for
Black Belts which is designed to assist them in
obtaining an instructor qualification.
Shotokan karate videos volumes I and II are available from the KUGB administrator. The videos feature the above Senior Instructors performing basics, kata and kumite. There is a narrative track to aid learning and the katas have been performed in a way that will aid observation admin@kugb.org.
A free

The local area of Torbay is a tranquil place, nestling between Dartmoor to the east and the Bay of Torquay, Paignton and Brixham to the west. It is an ideal place for a family holiday or couple of days break.
For International visitors the nearest airport is Exeter followed by the next nearest Plymouth, Bristol and Heathrow. The Paignton area is serviced by the M5 motorway leading straight to Exeter and the A38 and A380 terminating in Torbay itself. Bus and train routes both arrive in the centre of Paignton about 1/2 mile on foot from Torbay Leisure Centre.
